Hyderabad: The second edition of GradRight's flagship event, ShiftED 2024, concluded, bringing together a community of students, universities, and financial institutions. The event aimed to address the issue of transparency and trust in the global higher education landscape.
Over 4,000 students attended the event, having an opportunity to engage with representatives from 24 leading foreign universities, including Washington University in St. Louis, Lehigh University, Rutgers University, and the University of San Diego. Financial partners like HDFC Credila, ICICI Bank, and Prodigy Finance were also present to offer guidance on student loans and financial planning.
The event featured masterclasses and breakout sessions on various topics, including visa processes, cultural adaptation, and financial planning. Students and parents received advice on loan structures, interest rates, and repayment options.Sasidhar Sista, co-founder, GradRight, said: "After ShiftED’s debut last year with a focus on access, we have stepped up this year to champion the need for addressing existing trust gaps through insightful, mission-driven conversations with all stakeholders that matter, including students. "
ShiftED special guest, Prof. Chell Roberts, Dean of the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering-University of San Diego, said: “The future is India. If you look at population growth and the care for education, the central hub of the world is India. We’re approaching a period of political change and I think it is looking very good for this country.
